Takahara is a very popular destination for Kumano Kodo walkers. Kiri-no-Sato Takahara Lodge is located in the ridge top village of Takahara along the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage overlooking the Hatenashi mountain range. The panoramic views from the lodge are breathtaking, especially when the valley is filled with morning mist. You can look down the sea of clouds.
The owner spent his adolescence in England, Spain and other European coutries. At the inn you'll see beautiful, fusion of cultures in the atomosphere he has created. Also he is an excellent, Spanish guitar player, and on some occasions you might hear his music.
As the accomodation is referred to as "Organic Hotel," they offer organic food including wine and coffee, locally grown fresh vegetables. Their meals fill you with delightful energy. The water for the hot spring bath comes from Wataze Onsen in Hongu. The stay at Kiri-no-Sato Takahara Lodge will give you a nice and relaxing time to refresh your body and mind.
