Japan to reopen to independent travellers
Woohoo! After two and a half years of strict border restrictions due to Covid-19 limiting our ability to assist guests in planning and hiking the Kumano Kodo, we're delighted to share that Japan has announced a return to visa-free, independent travel and the removal of daily arrival caps from October 11, 2022.
"Japan will allow visa-free, independent tourism and abolish its daily arrival cap as of Oct. 11, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Thursday, marking a major policy shift after nearly 2½ years of strict COVID-19 restrictions" The Japan Times.
