Homestay
Hoshizora-no-Yado is a homestay in the west-end of the Takahara settlement along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. Surrounding the house is an ume orchard and just above the house is a clearing with beautiful views.
This beautiful log house was custom made for Mr. Nishiyama who personally spent 1.5 years searching for the best timber. The open-style architecture showcases the giant rafters. There is a sitting area, elevated tatami room, and kitchen. The toilet and wooden bath are in an attached building.
Meals are made and served in the house. 2 rooms, 4 people maximum. Guestrooms are smaller partitions in the main living room with sliding paper doors with no locks.
